Planning Approval on Redeness Street, York.

Den Architecture has recently received planning approval for a residential scheme on Redeness Street, York.

Taking precedent from the local context the proposal has been designed to complement the existing developments. A layering approach of the building has been adopted from the landscape buffer to the dark engineering brick, transitioning into redbrick topped by a set-back lightweight standing seam cladding.

There are 2 significant corners to the proposal, to the corner of Hallfield Road and Redeness Street and the opposite corner along Hallfield Road adjacent to the newly constructed Student Accommodation scheme. At these locations the fenestration has been designed to signify the importance of the corner with large floor to ceiling windows and contrasting detail panels in-between.
